Use on any opening from 90cm upwards  .Remember to choose a size that is larger than the actual width of your space so you can create an angle between each panel - this ensures you are not putting all the pressure on the wall brackets in case of impact. TIP 1 : For use on stairs each pack includes an extra set of brackets that can fit on bannisters. Surface area of bracket is 2cm x 4cm. Use on smaller areas, as spare brackets to use in 2 locations or to re-enforce the other brackets included. 

TIP 2 : If using on the top of the stairs, for extra safety ensure it is well back from the stairs top step, to avoid the danger tripping on the gate bar.

TIP 3 : Choose a size longer that your opening, so you can create an angle between panels. This gives a much more stable gate and takes the pressure off the wall brackets incase of adult or heavy impact with the gate.
